Feel like college is costing you an arm and a legÉliterally?
In 2002, the Lumina Foundation for Education called attending Dartmouth College ÒunaffordableÓ. In 2003, the Board of Trustees increased tuition 4.9%. In 2004, another increase occurred, this time at 4.5%. To attend Dartmouth for one year, it costs close to $40,000.
I, as a young voter in New Hampshire, not only realize the importance of a quality education but also the importance of making that quality education accessible through affordability. Furthermore, in this upcoming election, I would be more likely to vote if the Bush and Kerry campaigns issued statements explaining how their education policies will directly affect me as a New Hampshire student.
