The second presidential debate was unique in that it allowed citizens to pose questions to each of the candidates. There were, however, very few young people asking these questions. How do you think the debate would have been different if more of a voice was given to young people? If you had the opportunity to ask Bush or Kerry one question, what would it be? Tell the candidates to "Stop living in the past!"

The Federal Government still uses tuition costs from the 1970s to determine the cap on loans that students can take out to pay for college. Currently, an incoming freshman can only receive an unsubsidized loan of up to $2,625. This is not nearly enough to help pay for skyrocketing tuition rates! As a student in the District of Columbia, and possibly someone who votes in a battleground state, I would be more likely to vote if the Presidential Candidates would issue statements explaining how they plan to update loans to meet the needs of students
attending college in the 21st century.
