Youth04 is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that seeks to transform the role 18-25 year olds will play in the 2004 election. Through state grassroots efforts on college campuses, Youth04 aims to empower youth to get involved and create a dialogue between themselves and politicians. We believe young voters need to be more influential in the upcoming election, and Youth04 seeks to create opportunities for them to do this. Our chief goals are:
- Help youth voters across the country become more engaged in the political process.
- Encourage candidates, their consultants, and the media to pay attention to young voters.
- Create effective strategies and methods to help young voters express their beliefs and values in election 2004.
- Increase turnout among young voters.

"The internet will have to do more than act as a sophisticated phone chain or an on-line shopping network to truly create a political culture attractive to young voters. Another new site launched for the 2004 election, youth04.org, uses the internet to in its own words, 'create a relationship between young voters and candidates for political office, from the President on down. We aim to motivate both sides of the relationship to listen to each other.' The word relationship appears in bold face, to highlight its importance.
And that's what is needed. A new relationship." ---Jane Eisner, Taking Back the Vote (Beacon Press, August 2004)

"No other large-scale initiative is more carefully crafted to weave the concerns of young voters into the candidates' agendas." --Pius Uzamere III, M.I.T. student body president
